EVENT: WORDS AND FUSION (MEET THE POETS)@CLUB RUMORZ TONIGHT

It is sad that we keep on engaging in talks of tribalism as youths at this age and time. It’s not only primitive but a big fail on our personal characters. I am talking about this from a personal point of view as someone who experienced post election violence first hand and as a peace ambassador of my community.

They say who feels it knows it, so trust me when I tell you that the stare of death at your door step, the scare of hearts as children cry because of hunger and mother’s because of the risk the loud cry is putting them at, the cold you feel when your house is burnt to the ground and the fear of always looking over your shoulder to confirm that you did not upset anyone by asking the peace question is not a good glare.

So forgive me if I don’t share your sentiments, but a polarised country is not my cup of tea. I’d rather die than let my children into this world where they will be vulnerable of either being raped, killed or used to incite the generations.

I do not want to go down as someone who watched the country running towards a blood thirsty ground.

If I will ever fight, I want to fight not to fight my fellow men.

I want to give birth to a child to a world where violence is read on dictionaries

I dare anyone who reads this to share it and see if we won’t change the mind of atleast one polarised youth. I love my country.
